I tried to write Wikidata special page aliases in the url, but I got an error message saying "No such special page". It does not seem to matter in what language the special page alias is, as long as it is not english. The expected behaviour is to show the corresponding special page.
Can you provide an example?
I think it's because $wgLanguageCode = 'en' and we haven't figured out a nice way to make special pages and namespaces multilingual, despite having translations in the Wikibase source code. @Reedy http://wikidata.org/wiki/Special:Hlutur_eftir_nafn (this is Icelandic alias for Special:ItemByTitle) Even with "uselang=is", it's not recognized.
See also https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=41845 which I think might be related and unfortunately doesn't seem trivial to fix. A fix would be very nice indeed.
I think bug 41807 might provide a clean way to solve this. If the content language was "mul", we could simply copy all aliases for all languages into the "mul" pseudo-language.

That´s correct. However, I have changed the icelandic alias for that on wikidata.org at Wikidata:Aliases for special pages. There are three aliases for Special:ItemByTitle, per Jeblad´s suggestion and the icelandic ones are: Special:HluturEftirTitli, Special:HluturEftirTungumálatengli and Special:HluturEftirVefsvæðistengli. I am not sure when Jeblad is going to push that change to gerrit. You will probably need to ask himself.
changed to new and marked "need-volunteer"
should be a duplicate of bug 41845
Thanks Ricordisamoa! *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 41845 ***
(In reply to Lydia Pintscher from comment #8) You must thank Aude from comment #3!
