Description kipod 2012-11-12 18:00:28 UTC
(this is a twofer. the 2nd part is easy to understand and fix, but the real issue is the first part....)

Special:Version contains version information, + patch-level.
e.g., at the time of this writing, enwiki shows "1.21wmf3".

however, there were several fixes (aka "patches") that were deployed since 1.21wmf3, and the there is no nice way to see which patches were deployed on each individual wikimedia site.

this makes it cumbersome reporting status to the community: it is understandable that it is difficult, and often impossible to report future fix-deployment schedule, but we should be able to comfortably report deployments that already occured.

there is a (oft broken) link to the *latest* gerrit patch, but even when the link works, it's not good enough: we need access to the *list* of patches deployed.

it would be even better to be able to list the bugzilla bugs that were fixed.
let's say the current deployment is "1.21wmf3 + 5 patches". there is a place to see the content of 1.21wmf3, but there is no way to know what are the "5 patches".

as a side: often times, the link that appears in parenthesis after the version is broken. for instance, the link at the time i write this report is:

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/gitweb?p=mediawiki/core.git;h=c20c4ad5d9de76c3d262dd73f491c5dde86a1f41

this link is 404.

peace.

for some reason the link in previous message was broken. maybe it's too long. here is the ur, without the "http://" part. hopefully this will not get broken. i wish bugzilla had a "preview" option, and a way to edit existing reports...:

gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/gitweb?p=mediawiki/core.git;h=c20c4ad5d9de76c3d262dd73f491c5dde86a1f41

This has nothing to do with Gerrit, moving to MediaWiki.

Confirm that this issue still exists. Version page on enwiki

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:Version

link to gerrit is a 404.
