I bet this bot just isn't marking it's edits as bot edits.

Actually, even local bots show up in exactly the same way as this with bot-flagged edits, for example:
Bot flag is shown for the edit on Special:RecentChanges:
(diff | hist) . . b User talk:Jsport‎; 17:22 . . (+990)‎ . . ‎DPL bot (Talk | contribs)‎ (dablink notification message (see the FAQ)) [rollback]

Diff and history don't show it:

Works for me. Editing as a user part of a global bot group allows me to flag my edits as bot edits by setting the 'bot' parameter (not using this parameter produces edits with no bot flag, which is the correct behaviour).
