Description #Reaper 2012-11-23 20:25:52 UTC
If you search for "Einzelnachweise" on de-wiki, it doesn't find anything. (I'm searching in "everything" or "help and project sites", for sure.) But the expected article is called "Hilfe:Einzelnachweise". If you search for "Einzelnachweis" (missing E at the end) it finds the expected article, because of an redirect.

Thats a little bit strange and not what should be expected(?)

Thank you & best regards,
#Reaper

Ok, the bug "has changed":
The previous bug was know to me since 1 or 2 weeks, but know I noticed, that the whole search doesn't works correctly: You have to search (e.g. for the word "dekatron") five times to get a result, expected 4 of 5 search-requests reply an empty result. It doesn't depends on the search-settings or if I'm logged in or not.

best regards,
#Reaper

PS: I'm sorry for my bad english..

I can reproduce the problem with Einzelnachweise.

Entering "Dekatron" on de.wp I get the proposal "Dekatron". I don't get something on Commons though, but not sure which page you refered to.
Not sure either what "five times" means here, exact steps to reproduce welcome (click by click). As this is a different issue, please file a new bug report. Let's keep this report for "Einzelnachweise" please. Thanks.

Hello,

* "expected" (4 of 5) was the wrong word, I meant "appreciated" or "valued" or something like that, but it's not so important.

I'm sorry, I noticed now that I got confused today with the search on de.wp and Commons. It seems to me, that both are two different bugs, at first I was not sure and did a mistake (de.wp, Commons)..

The bug on Commons I meant was following, but it's not the same (=reload does't help) on wp.de:
If you search e.g. for "dekatron" on Commons (I'm sorry, forgot to say this) (using the search field on the top) you should get some pictures as result.
URL: http://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?search=dekatron&title=Special%3ASearch
You have to reload the site some times. Sometimes you got an result (some picturse), sometimes you didn't get any result.

I'll create a new bug report for this.

bg,
#Reaper
(I hope my english is understandable.. ^^° :-S )

Search on Commons is covered in bug 42423.
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2013-03-26 11:19:36 UTC
[Merging "MediaWiki extensions/Lucene Search" into "Wikimedia/lucene-search2", see bug 46542. You can filter bugmail for: search-component-merge-20130326 ]

Unable to reproduce problem in CirrusSearch. As Lucene is reaching its end of life and will be replaced by CirrusSearch, I am marking this as RESOLVED WONTFIX.
