Created attachment 11429 [details] Donation banner on a Galaxy Nexus on non-mobile en.wikipedia.org, November 2012 As reported by r1991 in #mediawiki, the fundraising banners are not currently mobile-friendly. Screenshot attached. I'm not sure where the fundraising team is on mobile support. If there aren't mobile banners and a mobile donation interface ready, these banners should simply be disabled on mobile devices. I think in past years there have been mobile-friendly banners with "TEXT WIKI" or something? Those might be reusable this year. The current situation depicted in the attached screenshot is unacceptable, though. The close icon and "Please help" text are painfully small and the banner is eating the window.
Sorry, I meant to add: I'm not sure if this is a fundraising bug or a mobile bug, so I'm copying both sets of people.
It is a fundraising bug. We are working on a patch to make things better, but not optimal.
Should be fixed by https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/35682/ which I just deployed.
This only applies to mobile devices which the Mobile team detects. If your device identifies itself as a desktop browser (or an iPad) you will still see the banners. Our goal for next year is to support mobile devices but this year we unfortunately have too many other tasks.
