Description Quim Gil 2012-11-29 16:39:45 UTC
Hi, it wuld be good to have one and only landing page for QA & testing activities, clear for everybody.

Now we have:

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA_and_testing

Nice URL! But wait, there is also

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Testing_portal

And in fact we have as well

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA/Strategy

which implies

http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA

(and even nicer URL, but the page doesn't exist).

Can please we agree on one landing paga and then rename/edit accordingly the rest?

Thank you in advance from our future QA contributors. ;)

In hindsight, we know more today than we did when these pages were created.

Given our new Groups proposals http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Groups/Proposals what would you think of

/wiki/QA/Browser_testing and /wiki/QA/Features_testing?

Under the first would go our ATDD stuff and technical documentation, under the second would go our historical test projects, test plans, as well as planning for new community test events and such.

Good idea. Let me try to polish it:

1. Rename http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA_and_testing to [[Testing]]. This will be the one and only portal.

2. Create [[Testing/Browser]] and [[Testing/Features]].

3. Rename [[QA/Strategy]] to [[Testing/Strategy]], and any pages [[QA/Something]] to [[Testing/Something]] (are there any?). No more "QA/".

4. Move all contents of http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Testing_portal to the relevant pages and delete the page. Redirect the links at http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Special:WhatLinksHere/Testing_portal where appropriate.

What do you think? I can help with the boring parts not requiring domain expertise. :)

Chris, you have been working on this but right now I'm not sure where you are, whether you feel you are done with this bug report or if there is anything I could do to help.

Closing, I think http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA is useful now
Comment 5 Quim Gil 2013-01-09 21:48:21 UTC
Testing portal is now a redirect to QA and testing
