Description Sage Ross 2012-11-29 16:46:06 UTC
With the new media player, attempting to load a page with many media files (such as [1]) will cause browsers to become unresponsive. The browser will use all the client CPU it can until all the media players are loaded, which can take a *long* time.

The media player should have a better way of limiting resource usage on pages with many player instances.

Note that this is being deployed in 1.21wmf5, so you'll have to wait until Monday for enwiki and Wednesday for non-en Wikipedias.
