Two possible warning messages on Special:RenameUser are:

MediaWiki:Centralauth-renameuser-merged 
(appears when oldusername is attached to a global account)
MediaWiki:Centralauth-renameuser-reserved 
(appears when newusername is reserved for the global account owner)

Instead of substituting the corresponding usernames, it says 
 User centralauth-renameuser-merged has been migrated to the unified login system. Renaming it will cause the local user to be detached from the global one.

 User $2 is reserved for a global account.


Using uselang=qqx it suggests that the wrong parameters were passed:
 (centralauth-renameuser-merged: centralauth-renameuser-merged)
 (centralauth-renameuser-reserved: centralauth-renameuser-reserved)
