Description elger.jonker 2012-12-10 12:30:55 UTC
Hi,

In a normal situation the "Special:Formstart" will forward a user automatically when he/she has entered information in the Forminput field.

On the following wiki this is not the case: a user enters the page he/she desired to edit and has to enter the information again.

We used a normal version of Semantic Forms but upgraded it to the 2.5.2 alpha release from Git. The issue is still visible.

The instruction page about Semantic forms doesn't report on this issue: the suggested method of operation is using the forminput, and then being redirected to the right page. On any other wiki we host this is the case.

Here is the page with the issue:
https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Add_project

After entering the form it redirects to
https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Special:FormStart?page_name=User%3AYourusername%2FYourprojectname&form=Project

Normally you'd see the form, but now you have to enter your information again.

Can i assist into solving this issue?

Regards,
Elger

Hi,

There's something strange going on in that wiki - it ignores the first value in the query string. A URL like this, for example, doesn't work, as you discovered:

https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Special:FormStart?page_name=Hello&form=Project

However, this works correctly:

https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Special:FormStart?a=b&page_name=Hello&form=Project

That doesn't happen just for Special:FormStart - this URL ignores the "abc" value:

https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Special:Search?search=abc

...but this one gets it:

https://ohm2013.org/wiki/Special:Search?test=test&search=abc

My guess is that the problem comes either from an extension on that wiki, from some custom modification to the PHP code, or from some error in the URL rewriting. I'm changing this to "worksforme", in any case.

Ah, you're right. Thanks for the expert vision, i think the rewrite rules are incorrect and we'll have to fix it.

Thanks again from the OHM2013 crew :))
