Description Jeffery Nichols 2012-12-13 06:03:28 UTC
I can only see the very top few lines of the review-and-save window, the notices window, and the edit summary window. The rest of them seem to be behind the article window. I can scroll down the review window, looking at it three lines at a time in the little area between the top of the article and the tabs. The notices window and the edit summary windows don't scroll, which means I can't get down to the final "save" button.

Could you take a screenshot and attach it to this ticket?

I can confirm with newest Chrome. Problem only happened to me on the mediawiki.org VE test page, where the en.wikipedia VE works fine.

It is possible that the bug has been resolved, I had reported it, but cannot reproduce it. Closing as "probably fixed".

A minor criticism on bug management: at the time when Jeffery and I reported this, it was a totally debilitating bug, a blocker. Simply not investigating the bug 4 months, seemingly never testing it, but then reducing the severity to "minor" seems odd.
Comment 6 James Forrester 2013-04-17 05:55:24 UTC
Sorry for the lack of response; I reviewed this bug quite a few times in the months since it was reported, and each time was unable to reproduce (but quite clearly this was a repeatable bug, given the screenshot and two independent reports).

This was not a 'blocker' in the sense that we use it, though obviously for a (seemingly very small) number of installations/situations it was a serious bug.

Glad to hear that it works for you now; unfortunately, as we don't know what the root cause was, we can't proove that it's not going to re-occur. Thus I feel it would be inappropriate to assign it as "FIXED", so I will instead mark as "WORKSFORME".
Comment 7 Gregor Hagedorn 2013-04-17 06:59:38 UTC
sorry for the criticism, and WORKSFORME is better, of course!
