I tried to add an alias containing character "|", but this fails without any notice. Clicking save simply removes the field created on edit modus. (It is possible to use this character within labels.)

It would be nice to have an error message which tells the users that this fails because this one character is not allowed.

Closing this as the real fix is fixing bug 43136.
