Description Riley Huntley 2012-12-22 21:01:59 UTC
Account creation CAPTCHA is not working properly. Due to this, ACC (English Wikipedia Internal Account Creation Interface) is getting severe backlogs of requests. In the request comments their are statements saying the CAPTCHA is unreable. One stated that they tried 8 times.
Comment 1 Liangent 2012-12-22 21:24:56 UTC
I don't find it really unreadable?

.. as long as you understand they're two English words.
Comment 2 Riley Huntley 2012-12-22 21:40:57 UTC
I find it readable too but there is obviously a bug here somewhere that is causing issues with it.
Comment 3 Dereckson 2012-12-22 23:37:22 UTC
Confirming bug.

Each character is readable, but the space to separate the two words is missing.

This blocks the captcha resolution.
Comment 4 Tim Starling 2012-12-24 01:01:43 UTC
There's never been a space between the two words.
Comment 5 Michael Jackson 2012-12-24 06:27:19 UTC
The CAPTCHA worked for me just now; however, I can confirm users were experiencing issues earlier and there was an influx of ACC requests.
Comment 6 Andre Klapper 2012-12-31 15:34:01 UTC
Haven't seen other comments by en.wikipedia users affected by this in the Village Pump - anybody can confirm the problem?
Comment 7 Andre Klapper 2013-01-02 12:20:18 UTC
I'm pretty sure that this is the same problem as bug 43546 (recently worse readability of captchas).
