Account creation CAPTCHA is not working properly. Due to this, ACC (English Wikipedia Internal Account Creation Interface) is getting severe backlogs of requests. In the request comments their are statements saying the CAPTCHA is unreable. One stated that they tried 8 times.
I don't find it really unreadable? .. as long as you understand they're two English words.
I find it readable too but there is obviously a bug here somewhere that is causing issues with it.
Confirming bug. (In reply to comment #1) > I don't find it really unreadable? > > .. as long as you understand they're two English words. Each character is readable, but the space to separate the two words is missing. This blocks the captcha resolution.
There's never been a space between the two words.
The CAPTCHA worked for me just now; however, I can confirm users were experiencing issues earlier and there was an influx of ACC requests.
Haven't seen other comments by en.wikipedia users affected by this in the Village Pump - anybody can confirm the problem?
I'm pretty sure that this is the same problem as bug 43546 (recently worse readability of captchas). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 43546 ***
