Created attachment 11564 [details] The screenshot of the error message If I try to use Special:SecurePoll mediawiki gives me an error message. A database query syntax error has occurred. This may indicate a bug in the software. The last attempted database query was: (SQL query hidden) from within function "IndexPager::buildQueryInfo (SecurePoll_ElectionPager)". Database returned error "1146: Table 'itwikivoyage.securepoll_elections' doesn't exist (10.0.6.76)". We were going to use it, but it seems not work. What's the problem? Thanks
Someone has enabled it without applying the database changes...
Actually it looks like SecurePoll is enabled on all wikis. I guess nobody remembered to create the tables.
Anyway, there's no reason to use SecurePoll on a wiki with so few users. It involves significant developer configuration for each vote.
Thank you to have noticed this configuration error. We'll disable the extension soon. - Closed as RESO WONTFIX. - Bug 43535 has been opened to track the extension disabling. * * * [ Note 1: about SecurePoll current use ] The English Wikipedia used it in the following processes: http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:SecurePoll_%28main_page%29.png They allowed a closed vote. [ Note 2: about poll or election software need ] Emanuele, if you have any need for a poll solution, please discuss it on #wikimedia-tech. Most wikis use traditional wiki pages and count votes at the end. They prefer any vote to be visible for transparency of the process and accountability of the participants. Furthermore, some wiki tradition emphasizes on the debate aspect. See for example On the French Wikipedia (as an essay): http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikip%C3%A9dia:Discuter_au_lieu_de_voter On the Italian Wikipedia (as a consensual rule): http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Discuti,_non_votare
Ok, thank you Dereckson. I'll read these pages. You can close this report. Bye
