Description Emanuele Raoli 2012-12-30 18:56:26 UTC
Enable the extension Micro Design http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Micro_Design_Improvements on it.wikvoyage.

http://noc.wikimedia.org/conf/InitialiseSettings.php.txt

'wmgUseMicroDesign' => array(
        'itwikivoyage' => true,
),

Thanks

No such extension exists... That's a list of ideas
Comment 2 Emanuele Raoli 2012-12-30 19:23:26 UTC
Ok, thanks for the clarification. Would be possible to use the same ideas as experiment?
Comment 3 Vituzzu@it.wiki 2012-12-30 19:47:44 UTC
Actually there's something active on en.wiki, though it might be something experimental. Anyway a really small project is definitely not the best place to make such experiments.
Comment 4 Emanuele Raoli 2013-01-04 03:56:01 UTC
Hi, Is it possible to enable this feature of this list of ideas?
Comment 5 Andre Klapper 2013-01-04 10:59:49 UTC
That would first require describing the feature that you actually ask for (or I simply don't get it).

I don't understand. It might be experimental, so you can't have it, because you shouldn't have...things which are definitely experiments?

Bugzilla is not a closed loop. Given the plethora of links you've been provided with above it might have been productive to hunt down one of the staffers working on the project and asking them "hey, do you understand what this guy means?"

So, as one of the staffers working on the project, let me explain what it means:

First, MicroDesigns is not an experiment.
Second, MicroDesigns is not an extension.
Third, what Emanuele is requesting and describing is, well, the edit window as currently seen on enwiki (which people might have noticed is different from the edit window on, say, mediawiki, or indeed on any other wiki).

This code lives in the Vector extension and can easily be enabled through LocalSettings.php by adding $wgVectorFeatures['footercleanup']['global'] = true;

That's pretty much it. For future reference, it's nice to close as WONTFIX with an explanation as to _why_ it's WONTFIX.
Comment 7 Chad H. 2013-01-17 17:07:25 UTC
While the actual configuration is $wgVectorFeatures['footercleanup']['global'] = true; as comment 6 says. However, there is a shortcut called 'wmgUseMicroDesign.' I see where the confusion came from.

Enabled that, so this should be done now.

+1. See the "(History)" link above; it was originally INVALID as per comment 1.
