Description Jamie Thingelstad 2012-12-31 13:41:20 UTC
I'm using the current master branch from git of Widgets and MediaWiki 1.20.2.

I've used the Widget extension for a while now and noticed that in the newest releases there is a bug preventing the Widget namespace from registering.

The most obvious issue is when using Special:PrefixIndex the Widget namespace is not available in the dropdown menu.

Related though are these messages:

...from Special:Version

Allows wiki administrators to add free-form widgets to the wiki by editing pages within the Template:Ns:widget namespace. Community-contributed widgets can be found on MediaWikiWidgets.org

...from Special:ListGroupRights

Create and edit widgets in the Template:Ns:widget namespace (editwidgets)

Looking in the source I see that those are all references to {{ns:widget}} which MediaWiki is interpreting as a template call with redlink.

You can see this issue live at http://wikiapiary.com/wiki/Special:Version

I downgraded from 0.10.0 to 0.9.2 to continue to use this for now, but definitely could not get 0.10.0 to work right. I also observed similar issues on other sites running 0.10.0.
