I wanted to use {{DISPLAYTITLE:GIT tl;dr}} on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Git/TLDR but it does not work. I suppose, it has never been enabled as explained in https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:$wgAllowDisplayTitle . Please enable it on mediawiki.org
We don't set the $wgAllowDisplayTitle variable in our configuration. Please note DISPLAYTITLE is a normalization way, to print other *cases*. This is explained on the page you link: 'However, {{DISPLAYTITLE:Foo}} will not work, because "Foo" is not the same title as "IPod". Since MediaWiki 1.14, it is possible to disable this restriction and thus allow any display title by setting $wgRestrictDisplayTitle = false; This is not recommended however, as it breaks the wiki convention that a page's title is its name, and thus can be used for linking to it.' The following wikis use $wgRestrictDisplayTitle = false: Projects: - as.wikipedia - bn.wikipedia - bn.wiktionary - bn.wikisource - bn.wikibooks - bpy.wikipedia - en.wikibooks - rm.wikipedia - zh.wikipedia Chapters wiki: - bd.wikimedia - be.wikimedia Other Wikimedia wikis: - donatewiki - foundationwiki - wikimania2009wiki - wikimania2010wiki - wikimania2011wiki - wikimania2012wiki - wikimania2013wiki If you can get an agreement on mediawiki.org we break the rule "one title = one URL and one URL = one title", I will set that for mediawiki.org too. Bug hasn't been touched since the day it was created over 1 month ago. Please reopen if on-wiki consensus develops for disabling $wgRestrictDisplayTitle. -> INVALID for now.
