The auto completion does not try to complete to the shortest found article so you might hit enter and save not the link you meant to save.

Exmple: You add the article "Germ" in Simple English (to which item does not matter) your input will get auto completed to "Germany"

This is similar to how things are handled for example in the autocompletion in the browser URL field and Google's search field. This is intended. I'm closing as wontfix therefor. We're working on improving the suggestions you get though.
