In theory labsconsole knows when an instance is being built or deleted.  If we turned off nagios alerts during those stages it would cut down on IRC chatter quite a bit.

since bot is in different channel is this still needed? instances build so fast now you can't even notice it

Yeah, agreed, I haven't seen this problem in ages.
