Description Nemo 2013-01-19 08:55:44 UTC
Some wikis have "n/a or error" in the version column, which links to bogus URLs like:

http://kurow-wiki.openhosting.pl/wiki/Special:Statistics?action=rawapi.php?action=query&meta=siteinfo&maxlag=5
http://www.rechnerlexikon.de/artikel/Spezial:Statistics?action=rawSpecial:Version

The first 22 rows in the URL are such examples; I'm not able to produce a complete list because in the CSV they seem fine and I can't see any pattern.

This is fixed (now links a valid http://kurow-wiki.openhosting.pl/wiki/Specjalna:Version with MediaWiki 1.8.2),

> http://www.rechnerlexikon.de/artikel/Spezial:Statistics?action=rawSpecial:
> Version

this is not (error 997). http://wikistats.wmflabs.org/detail.php?t=mw&id=3642
Several others with unknown version seem to be now labeled error 991, while errors 992 are vanished or severely broken wikis.

you should see whatever is in the version column as not related to the HTTP error returned from normal updates. it's an entirely sepearate script that checks for versions, unfortunately it's not included in the normal updates for good/total/users etc..

as of today:

number of wikis with status 792: 2
number of wikis with status 997: 87
number of wikis with status 991: 1155

but that said, this bug is actually just about NOT having links in the version column if there is no version available. right ??

i would claim that is not true anymore. i clicked a couple of those and they all just took me to either Special:Version or api.php with parameters that fetch the version.
