Description Brion Vibber 2013-01-22 22:37:19 UTC
The database is currently locked to new entries and other modifications, probably for routine database maintenance, after which it will be back to normal.

The administrator who locked it offered this explanation: Wikimedia Sites are currently read-only during maintenance, please try again soon.
Comment 1 Brion Vibber 2013-01-22 22:39:14 UTC
Workaround: use test2.wikipedia.org.

Sigh.
Comment 2 Andre Klapper 2013-01-22 23:48:26 UTC
Reason: https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_maintenance_notice

Previously, "test.wp didn't run off the full cluster, just a single apache (and uses the nfs copy)."

<^demon> I think testwiki should be made into a normal cluster wiki like test2wiki.
<^demon> I don't know when it'll get unlocked. It won't be enabled again as-is. Probably needs apache config changes first.

Hence might be a duplicate of bug 43722 in the end when it comes to the outcome.

...plus see bug 43495 (kill dependency on NFS).
Comment 4 Tim Starling 2013-01-23 04:16:42 UTC
Fixed.

https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/45296/

It was always going to be necessary to run MW from the inactive cluster, we discussed this in migration planning meetings. testwiki can continue to work like any other pmtpa MW instance.
