Basically it just looks odd because of how the space is used - all on the left. The fixed-width of the content on the left results in quite a bit of unbalanced white space on the right, and the more info link that is centred under that just makes it stand out even more, especially when the entire thing should probably be centered more. 

And all that white space on the right just makes it even weirder that there is apparently not enough space on the left for the tooltipsies, which wind up on top of the 'Why create an account?' items... (Bug 44389)

The page is very left-heavy and it really shouldn't be.

I'm resolving this since:

1. The tooltips are gone. 
2. We use the same two column layout in the version now in prod, but we're probably not going to center-align or right-align the second column on large screen sizes. If you have a solution that can be responsive to smaller screen sizes while accounting for very large resolutions, please commit it and I'll help make sure it's reviewed.
