Languages on beta are broken in various ways 1) The list is usually incomplete due to a low default limit. Limit probably needs to be set to 500 http://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/api.php?action=query&prop=langlinks&format=json&llurl=true&titles=Battleship&lllimit=500 2) The labels of the languages are the language codes and need to be translated. It would be good if the above query could include the localised language name in the response. 3) Variants are not showing

This now only applies to alpha as of https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/51320/ Although no enhancement on beta due to regression until https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/52158 gets merged.
https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/52173/ and https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/52172 takes care of 2. This leaves variants... not sure how best to handle these
