One is hyphenated, one is camel case.

Would nice to be keep them consistent ;)

wikibase-item occurs hundreds of times throughout the extension. Will one have to change all of the occurences?

I would change commonsMedia to commons-media, but note that this means a *breaking* change in the api, settings, and translation messages.

While nice-to-have it fixed, it might not be so easy to make this change.
