Description Onno 2013-02-06 22:00:18 UTC
When using OpenLDAP on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS you won't be able to connect. Turning debug on, the log will show something similar to
2013-02-06 21:50:36 jupiter mediawiki-pmw_: 2.0d Failed to bind as uid=myuser,ou=people,dc=mydomain,dc=com.

I fiddled around with the settings for few hours. The settings are fairly simple so I suppose a few hours is enough for conclusion that it won't work. Changing settings also does not change results. The message is 'always' the same: failed to bind.

Directory and account are okay. I use it for other web resources and up until Mediawiki I was 'always' able to get LDAP integration up-and-running in matter of minutes.

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. It works perfectly fine for me. Have you looked at the debug log?
Comment 2 Andre Klapper 2013-02-26 04:45:05 UTC
Onno: Please provide a debug log.
Comment 3 Ryan Lane 2013-04-13 20:55:28 UTC
This isn't likely a bug in the software. I'm bringing the priority down.
