Hi Elph,
my guess is that MediaWiki uses what Unicode CLDR defines as month names. :)

In this case, for the Gregorian calendar, that's Gregory(ar), see
http://unicode.org/cldr/trac/browser/trunk/common/main/ar.xml#L1565

Excuse my ignorance, but I'm not sure what exactly you refer to when using the term "Syriac". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Syriac_language defines it as a language that disappeared in the 14th century, but also after reading https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northeastern_Neo-Aramaic it's still rather unclear to me. How common is the "Syriac" version, and where is it used?

Hi Andre
I think a mistake happened from me. Because the right name was "Assyrian" not "Syriac"
We use those names which originally Syriac or Assyrian roots by Arabic alphabet so we call it Syriac months
You can see : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Assyrian_calendar

Corrected the calendar names in the bug title.
