Description Daniel Kinzler 2013-02-14 11:45:00 UTC
When calling the API of other wikis using HTTP, as for instance MediaWikiSite does in order to normalize page titles, provide options to Http::get() to force a reasonable timeout and perhaps other hints.

Re Quim reassinging this bug to the API component: The "API" component is for bugs in the API itself. This bug is about other things calling the API on other wikis and not specifying timeouts, which is a problem in those other things.
Comment 2 Daniel Kinzler 2013-03-16 15:57:45 UTC
Assigning this to the wikibase repo extension. The subject of this ticket is specifically, how wikibase can call out to other site's api without blocking for too long.

[replacing wikidata keyword by adding CC - see bug 56417]
