We should remove wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org from default CC list in all products/components. This entry is entirely superfluous, since wikibugs-l is already a global watcher. It can also cause security issues, as it will keep receiving bugmail after a bug is marked as private (or whatever the bugzilla term for this is). This e-mail is in default CCs in, for example, Wikimedia/Bugzilla itself. (So I can't even not CC it on this bug.) Also, once this is done, it should probably be removed from CC list on all bugs. It is currently CC'd on 3817 bugs, including 1386 open ones. (This is the inverse of bug 818 and bug 40973.)
In theory, if globalwatcher *worked* reliably (bug 44929), I'd agree. You have a good point with security issues though.
Now that I understand how wrong I was in bug 44929, I've removed it as default CC from a bunch of components. Still a few left (some extensions, Cortado). Removing it from CC of the 1386 open ones is probably something once we upgrade and can disable bugmail.
wikibugs-l@ is not default CC of any Bugzilla component anymore. MatmaRex: Personally I don't think the 1386 open ones are worth the hassle so I'd close as RESOLVED FIXED if you're fine with that.
If it's not possible to do non-disruptively (ie. without sending out thousands of e-mails) with minimal work, then sure, it's hardly important. Thanks.
Ah well, let's keep it open with low prio for the next Bugzilla upgrade.
Can't we disable sending Bugmail through the admin interface?
(In reply to comment #6) > Can't we disable sending Bugmail through the admin interface? Sure, but that would be global, so whatever others are doing in Bugzilla at the same time there would not be any mail notifications about that either.
