Description Andre Klapper 2013-03-12 09:29:40 UTC
"Normal" priority is a very subjective term, even more than "highest" priority. What's normal to you when you're asked about priority?

I am going to rename this to "medium" priority and update our documentation.

This really should be discussed first, Wikitech-l would be a good idea.

> This really should be discussed first

Could you explain why in this case? (It's not that I'd disagree, just interested in understanding expectations better and this looks like a rather trivial change, without plans to change the meaning of the priority, just its name.)

There's a small group of people who have indicated an interest in discussing Bugzilla-related matters (cf. <https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Groups/Proposals/Bug_Squad#Who_is_interested>).

Perhaps a discussion among those people would be prudent?

Generally, this seems like a trivial change and I'm not sure it needs a wikitech-l discussion (though a heads-up "this has been done" post to wikitech-l is always nice).

You're proposing changing only the priority drop-down menu, not the importance drop-down menu?

CC'ing to get some more input.

That was my plan.

If you meant "Severity" ("Importance" is both, see bug 32164), no plans to change that one (as I have no idea what would be a better term).

Thinking about this, it will break all queries that anybody has stored outside of Bugzilla's saved searches (e.g. excluding seveirty = enhancement).
Hmmm.
I'm not that convinced anymore that it's worth the hassle, pointing people to the interpretation of "normal" might be better instead. I've added the term "medium" to http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Bugzilla/Fields#Priority .
Might be WONTFIX.

Sir,Where I can find the file to change?
Comment 7 Andre Klapper 2014-01-02 20:36:32 UTC
You cannot, as it is a setting on the server and not in some codebase.
Comment 8 Vishnu Nk 2014-01-03 12:59:03 UTC
So that as a new comer I cant fix this?
or else we need to have high privs for server access, sir?
Comment 9 Andre Klapper 2014-01-03 13:24:37 UTC
Only Bugzilla admins can fix this.
