1. Load the 'aliens' example document.
2. Place the cursor in front of the first 'Lorem' and hit the link button.
3. Observe the exception

Ed, I can't reproduce it the way you described it. Please note that around first 'Lorem' (first paragraph) there is no alien (inline nor block).

Looks to be fixed in master now. Not sure which commit did it....
