Sometimes people like to write big replies with headers, just because they can; result in the URL (non-standard example, migrated from a normal page).
Maybe the edit section links should be removed.

The threadaction action from LQT API doesn't have a parameter to inform a section:

If it had, then doEditThread would just need to get the section number from the URL and pass it to the API:
