Validator 1.0alpha throws the following error: 
Fatal error: Class '\ValueValidators\StringValidator' not found in /var/www/webapps/gateway_dev/extensions/Validator/includes/ParamProcessor/ParamDefinitionFactory.php on line 180 

Latest DataValues also checked out from git.

Cannot reproduce, and do not see why one would get this error with the latest version of the code. Sounds like the DataValues libraries are not loaded.

Does it need the very latest git version of SMW 1.9?

Not the very latest, though if you have a rather old version of the alpha, that might cause the problem
