Description Adam Stankiewicz 2013-03-20 20:26:07 UTC
I get "There is no email address recorded for user "Sheerun"."
Comment 1 Andre Klapper 2013-03-21 09:35:06 UTC
Which wikisite is this about? What was your previous username?
Comment 2 Adam Stankiewicz 2013-03-21 11:15:42 UTC
en.wikipedia.org, my prebious username was Sh33run, now it's Sheerun
Comment 3 Platonides 2013-03-21 11:25:52 UTC
Did you have an email set into your account?

This may be an interaction between renaming and SUL.

I didn't know we can change usernames. My local wiki just allows change of email address
Comment 5 Adam Stankiewicz 2013-03-21 14:32:56 UTC
Probably not, it's the first time I tried to login to new account, and I don't know the password... How can I do it now?
Comment 6 Nischay Nahata 2013-03-21 18:12:26 UTC
Ah, you mean you created a new account (with a new username) and didn't provide an email address and now you don't know the password?

I think there's already a bug report for this somewhere where I couldn't find it.
The suggested solution can be a security question.

Nyschain, you need [[Extension:RenameUser]], but it has been possible for a long time.

Your password is the same as that you had with Sh33run username (but you were renamed in 2010, how is it that you didn't try it until now? Was it part of a cross-wiki rename?).
Comment 8 Adam Stankiewicz 2013-03-21 23:30:28 UTC
I fotgot that previous password (yes, this was cross-wiki rename). I didn't login to Wikipedia since then :D I could reset password to the old account, because e-mail worked on password-reset form. I couldn't do the same with the new account.

Anyway, after many tries, I've recalled old password. Thank you for attention. Maybe e-mail address should be automatically transferred to renamed account to prevent such cases in future? Cheers.
