Description Emufarmers 2013-03-28 19:24:25 UTC
User:Dispenser has collected a list of cases where video rendering fails: https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=User:Dispenser/sandbox&oldid=93443761
Bug 43331 also kicks in with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:2012_State_Of_The_Union_Address_%28720p%29.ogv
"Added to Job queue 68 days, 21 hours, 38 minutes, 20 seconds ago" (!)

There appear to actually be multiple different errors, depending on whether the file is being transcoded to WebM or Ogg.

Note: According to Michael, if ops are fine with the memory limit in the patch, this can get merged.
Comment 3 Gerrit Notification Bot 2013-08-19 10:47:50 UTC
Change 63418 abandoned by J:
(bug 46650) increase memory limit for frame extraction

Reason:
Increasing memory no longer needed.

avconv has been fixed to only require reasonable amounts of memory and deb packages are on there way to apt.wikimedia.org, more on that in rt ticket 5620

Comment 4 Jan Gerber 2013-08-21 15:18:59 UTC
a new version of libav fixes the thumbnail issues,
deployment progress in rt https://rt.wikimedia.org/Ticket/Display.html?id=5620
