When I try "vagrant up" on my Macbook at work, it gives me an error that more than one synced folder has the same guest path. I did some googling and it seems adding "id: vagrant-root" to the parameters for config.vm.synced_folder fixes this issue. Unfortunately I don't have my SSH key or anything setup so I can't put it into Gerrit until I get home.

Yep. v1.1.5 (which has been out only for a couple of days) barfs at attempts to share a folder under two mountpoints. I fixed it in Gerrit change #57696. Were you running the latest revision?
Sorry for the late response, but I just checked it again on the absolute latest revision and it still displayed the same error. This fixes it for me: https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/58309
