When visiting a page outside main namespace, the content of all sections except the lead is taken from the corresponding section in main namespace. See for example http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:About (the first section takes its content from http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/About). This also affects sections that are transcluded from a template, and it's possible that subpages are also ignored, for example: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Dubious (sections in the documentation subpage Template:Dubious/doc which get transcluded in take their content from http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dubious , which is a redirect to http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doubt).
Forgot to mention, this is on Wikipedia now, so MediaWiki version 1.21wmf12.
Are you using the "Here be dragons mode" by any chance? ( https://en.m.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Special:MobileOptions&returnto=About )
Erm, yes. Should have mentioned that, sorry.
No worries. Thanks for this crucial information. Marking as low since alpha is highly experimental and this feature is jot guaranteed to make it to beta.
Curiously, this also seems to affect pages that use "returnto": 1. In dragon mode, go to "Template:Confusing" 2. Using the menu at top left, go to settings. The URL now contains "&returnto=Template%3AConfusing" 3. Tap the save button Expected: you are returned to "Template:Confusing" Actual: you are returned to "Confusing" which redirects to "Mental confusion" (in main namespace) This likewise only happens in dragon mode. You can even use the settings page to turn off dragon mode and this still happens.
Lazy loading code has been removed as of https://gerrit.wikimedia.org/r/#/c/62940/ so this bug is no longer present. Code is undergoing a big rewrite.
