It would be nice to have a notice at both of these places informing visitors about the 2012 migration to Git.

Relatedly, I come across r12345 links occasionally (mostly from Special:Version; e.g. <http://codex.wordpress.org/Special:Version>). Perhaps in addition to noting the Git migration, visitors could also be advised to update their software (or nag the wiki they came from to update its software).

Site now show:

Prior to 2012-2013, all MediaWiki/Wikimedia development took place here in SVN. Since then, we have moved to using Git/Gerrit which is located at gerrit.wikimedia.org.
