Description Kunal Mehta (Legoktm) 2013-04-23 01:31:13 UTC
I'm looking to import the MusicBrainz database so it can be imported into Wikidata (and hopefully kept up to date), however that's in postgresql and based on a couple of quick google searches it doesn't seem trivial to convert to mysql.

Coren said that it would be useful to have labs-wide so that MediaWiki builds and extensions could also be tested against it.

Indeed it would be more generally useful than for just this one task; while Mediawiki supports postgresql officially, there are occasionally hiccups in maintenance scripts or queries caused by spotty test coverage.

Since one of the objective of Labs is to provide a home for Mediawiki development, having an available postgres setup to test code against seems to be a natural feature we'd want to provide.

Can you be more specific - where you want to have such a db installed? I suggest you to create a new labs project for this kind of stuff

I suppose there is nothing about this bug that anyone can do... so I am closing it. If you really want to have postgre, no one prevents you from installing it on some project.

If it is regarding some existing project, please be specific
