Description Antoine "hashar" Musso (WMF) 2013-04-26 15:39:26 UTC
Jeroen from WMDE asked to be able to rebuild a job in Jenkins. It is not possible right now since only members of the LDAP group 'wmf' are allowed to do so.

We need to have a new group created in LDAP.

I have filled RT #5023 to request the LDAP group creation.

What kind of Jenkins jobs are we talking about? Assuming these are all properly maintained in version control and triggered either periodically or on Gerrit events, there should be no need to manually re-trigger a build (other than for maintenance purposes by Antoine and myself). Simply say 'recheck' on Gerrit or amend a patchset to re-trigger a run. That's how everyone else does it.

Alternatively, if some (all seems unnecessary) WMDE members should be more closely involved with Jenkins maintenance, we could grant them access to the "integration" LDAP group instead.

Timo: basically any job. Jenkins let members of the "wmf" LDAP group to rebuild a job directly from the Jenkins interface.

Bumped RT ticket. I have no clue how to request a new LDAP group.

Aude from WMDE has been added to the RT and she is in the WMF office this week. Should help get stuff done.

Removing myself from assignees, that is really an ops task.

The 'wmde' group has been created in LDAP which closed RT #5023.

Additional rights have been granted in Jenkins. People from the 'wmde' LDAP group would be able to retrigger builds, create jobs and views, and delete runs.
