When an en.wp article is known in Wikidata, any further edits should be in Wikidata. Prompting for a second Wikipedia article only leads to the creation of duplicates.
Could you please explain the exact steps how you can create a duplicate? I don't think this is possible. I suggest to close this report as "can't reproduce" if no more information is given.
When there is only one occurrence of a concept in Wikidata (only one unlinked wikipedia article), you will be prompted to enter a second article to connect to. So I assume there is no Wikidata entry and create a new item. When I add manually the link to the single Wikipedia article I will be told there is already an entry. This should not happen. When an entry in WD exists you should always be referred to WD. Thanks, Gerard

For example at http://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Q1 ? Or are you talking about the new "Add links" popup window in the Wikipedia articles? As I said I don't think it's possible to create duplicate items with this. Could you please explain the exact steps and post links of the duplicate items you created?
I am talking about the popup that should not occur. Technically you are right, the machine does not create a duplicate; this is done manually.
Why should the popup not occur? The popup is to add additional links to an existing Wikidata item. How do you create a duplicate? And why? What's the bug?

Sorry, I still don't get the issue you are trying to report. Could you please do a step by step description of what I need to do to encounter this issue?
It is quite simple. When there is an entry in Wikidata representing a Wikipedia article, all the mutations should occur in Wikidata. The notion that you want to add links is a fallacy when all you want to do is enrich Wikidata. Wikidata is not only about Wikipedia. Thanks, GerardM

Again, what's the bug? What is a "mutation"? How should Wikidata know that two articles in two different languages belong together? This must be done by a user by "adding" the missing links. "Enriching" Wikidata is done by "adding links" to existing items (with either the popup or directly at Wikidata) or by creating new items (which can't be done with the popup but will be easier when bug 49105 is deployed to the Wikipedia projects; you can also use the "Page information" for now). I asked multiple times for the exact steps how to reproduce your issue. As long as you are not able to do this this leads nowhere. I'm closing this now.
Enriching Wikidata is done by adding attributes. I expect that when an entry in Wikidata exist, it is obvious on the Wikipedia that is known. I may add that we are coming from opposite positions, to a large extend the interwiki links are a sideshow. The main thing of Wikidata is in the attributes that are being added.
Do you mean the fact that the link from Wikipedia to Wikidata says "edit links"? If so this will be solved very soon by a link in the "toolbox" that says "data item" or something like that.
