Description s7eph4n 2013-05-07 15:58:30 UTC
I offer downloadable archives of my extensions as zip and tgz files. Statistics show, that of all downloads around two thirds go for the zip while only one third goes for the tgz file. Having zip files as a snapshot format available through gitweb would enable me to get rid of third party platforms and directly offer downloads via gitweb. In addition this would significantly reduce the effort for version release.

Please enable zip as a snapshot format on gitweb.

Do what the extension distributor does and use github?

Ok, can do that, too. Seems like a detour, though.
Comment 3 Chad H. 2013-05-07 16:58:53 UTC
This will be solved with gitblit too, as it'll offer zip, tgz, and optionally bz2.
