@Reedy Wouldn't make more sense to create a A record to their current hosting rather than to setup a site for a redirect page?

the domain was registered today and is working now. website will be up by tonight.

regarding IP address, please leave it as of now. the hosting package i' had purchased is expired already.

I don't think it works that way. Legal tells ops to set up the domains when they are acquired by the WMF; I have no idea if WMF will do this job for you, you have to ask legal@wikimedia.org. 

It would be best to re-scope this bug to cover only the domains available for immediate action by ops. Domains we are interested in acquiring, so called "squatted", are in the hundreds and are tracked elsewhere: I don't know if WMF legals have any tracking of them; but if you have access to Internal wiki, please add yours to http://internal.wikimedia.org/wiki/Squatted_Wikimedia_domains which is the community-maintained official list (can't remember if this is the current title).

I'm closing this for the time being as there is not actionable. Please reopen this ticket once you have contacted the WMF legal team and once ownership is sorted out so the Wikimedia Operations team could act on this request.
