Description Tim Landscheidt 2013-05-29 06:20:06 UTC
Users can't create files in tools's directories any longer:

| scfc@tools-login:~$ groups
| wikidev project-bastion project-bots project-webtools project-checkwiki project-tools project-wikivoyage local-wikilint local-dbreps local-checkwiki local-ext-mapsources-test local-logger
| scfc@tools-login:~$ groups local-dbreps
| local-dbreps : local-dbreps
| scfc@tools-login:~$ ls -dl /data/project/dbreps
| drwxrwsr-x 11 local-dbreps local-dbreps 4096 May 29 02:08 /data/project/dbreps
| scfc@tools-login:~$ touch /data/project/dbreps/test-permissions.txt
| touch: cannot touch `/data/project/dbreps/test-permissions.txt': Permission denied
| scfc@tools-login:~$

petan said on #wikimedia-labs that at the Amsterdam hackathon the same happened to him and Coren told him that there is a daemon on the NFS server that does something with permissions and after restarting it, it worked again (but not anymore :-)).

(Users can work around this issue by copying files to /tmp as the user and then copying them from there as the tool.)
