Created attachment 12435 [details]
Screenshot showing headline with $1 while the link in the lower left edge is showing a user name in the same place. Both are using MediaWiki:contributions for the message.

Pass user name to [[mediaWiki:contributions]] even if used as a headline. See screen shot description.

Your translation is wrong, don't add the username to the title: bug invalid.
If you want to request such special pages to have the target in page title, that would be a different thing.
Comment 2 Purodha Blissenbach 2014-02-22 09:09:33 UTC
The message descript says that $1 was the user name.

The message is used twice:
- in one instance $1=user-name works
- in the other, it does not.

This inconsistent behavior and/or the message descriptin need to be fixed.

Either we need to have two independent messages, or they mus behave identically.

Purodha: Do you plan to work on a patch to fix this?
(As you said yourself as assignee here.)
