The rebase seemed to complete succesfully though.

This happened to me too once, a long time ago.

Almost sure I'd say. Usually it's a temporary, very brief thing.

Marking as RESOLVED/FIXED, as the error seems to have been temporary indeed.

There were other reports of email problems as well that morning, and
they have been solved meanwhile.
