Description jason_m 2013-06-18 14:19:35 UTC
1) Search suggestions cause the browser to skip typed characters until it catches up. Work around: type slowly.

2) Upon scrolling down in an article, some delayed object loading causes the browser to jump back to the top, loosing my spot. (Annoyance)

These are using the default Android ics browser with the mobile site.

Suggestions: Since I'm using a tablet, I would prefer to use the standard website so detecting Android as the Os and automatically handing out the mobile website may not be the best way to go. Pressing the button at the bottom on every visit, I know.

Thanks for taking the time to report this! For future reference, please only file one issue per report. Could you also provide more info about your Android device and an URL to reproduce (don't know if you refer to English Wikipedia or some other website)?

Moving this to the MobileFrontend component.

Samsung galaxy tab 10.1 wifi, model gt-p7510

The url would be any article
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Example

And it is on the desktop site at the moment, and so none of the issues happen there.

Have been unable to replicate so far - this could be a device specific problem. Has this recently happened or has it always been happening? Is this only a problem with typing in search?

The jumping back to the top should be fixed in tomorrow's deployment.

Also are you using the beta or experimental modes? Please print what the search input says
does it say Search Wikipedia or Search Wikipedia (Beta) ?
Comment 5 jason_m 2013-06-27 03:20:30 UTC
Since the site is back to mobile, I have been testing searches for a couple of days, and it appears to be working correctly. It doesn't say beta.
Comment 6 Jon 2013-06-27 07:26:37 UTC
So it's fixed?
Please reopen if I've misunderstood...!
