Collection Extension Not Functional With Other Extensions (Incompatible With Resource Loader) The Collection extension apparently is not functioning with other extension in MediaWiki.... Product Version MediaWiki 1.20.4 PHP 5.3.24 (cgi-fcgi) MySQL 5.0.96-log Problem: Collection does not generate images when producing PDF or other files, the URL to the default publisher creates an error when submitting content and the extension apparently does not work with certain parameters active. Output pages of the extension are very staggered and run with out page breaks, causing problematic output. Certain syntax and wikitext is also visible on the final document. Steps to Recreate Problem: When installing the extension, follow instructions accordingly; using a moderately populated Local Settings file with other extensions previously installed. When using group and member permission variables, leave parameters active which moderate user access. History: The collection extension was previously functional in earlier versions of MediaWiki; including picture and image support for PDF and other file generation. The Resource Loader was introduced to the MediaWiki repository and ecrtain adjustments had to be made but Collections did work. Version 1.20 MediaWiki also worked, but not with certain types of extensions that may have had tables or a complex document. These were disabled to make the Collections work. Present: Currently in MediaWiki 1.20.4, the Collection extension has major compatibility issues with the Resource Loader, with no error pages or other messages being made on the U/I. Only the default publisher's site has an error message staing that an internal error has occurred. Seeking information on resolving all of the issues mentioned here.
Thanks for taking the time to report this! Why do you think that this is due to being "incompatible with ResourceLoader"? Any debug logs that explain this assumption?
No debugs have been attempted and the build probably would not identify the actual issue due to the lack of system message documentation. The error incompatibility is not found because the system can not recognize any of the conflicting variable or hooks of the other extensions.
Thanks. I still wonder though: How do you know the problem happens because of "incompatibility with ResourceLoader"? And how did you find out? And what is the exact current output, and what would be the expected output, or in other words: How I could *see*/experience the problem myself?
I can give you a copy of the Princess Foobar LocalSettings and you could test/tweak the params?
Created attachment 12699 [details] Princess_Foobar_LocalSettings Attached here is a Princess Foobar LocalSettings that should give you insight as to tweaking the ResourceLoader using the extensions therein. The extension "Extension:Collection" does not work correctly with this local setting configuration.
Unfortunately closing this report as no further information has been provided that was asked for in comment 3, and I don't plan to play around with settings on my own as this is not user support. You still do not explain what "does not work correctly" exactly means so it is impossible to help further. Please feel free to ask on https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Project:Support_desk until it is clear that there is an issue in the codebase that can be fixed.
