Original Bug title: {{#translationdialog:Title}} gives ... nothing Per http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.org.wikimedia.mediawiki.i18n/389 a link to the translation dialog should be created. However, nothing is visible. https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=Commons:Sandbox&oldid=98570599
That was small undocumented feature which worked only with the old advanced translation editor i.e. the popups. It may be broken even since the inline translation editor became the default, anyway now only the new (TUX) editor receives fixes and features and it doesn't include popups.
Either this is removed from the tags listed at [[:commons:Special:Version]] or, preferably, repaired.
(In reply to comment #1) >That was small but useful >undocumented feature These kind of parser functions are automatically documented and the cited page contains information of what it is supposed to do. >doesn't include popups Which popups? I read something about a link. The link could point to Special:Translate?group=page-<<title_here>>
(In reply to comment #3) > Which popups? I read something about a link. The link could point to > Special:Translate?group=page-<<title_here>> That's not what it did though, it opened a popup. Also, it was generic for messages, not only about page translation; and TUX is not available for individual messages for now, so a link would not be possible. We've already accumulated three options: 1) restore old behaviour, 2) remove completely, 3) transform in a link to the new interface or something else which is going to stay. So this bug is getting a bit confused, what is the actual problem and use case? If you need a simple link, use {{fullurl:}} or a template maybe?
We will remove this feature. Thanks for the report.
