With "$wgLanguageSelectorLocation = LANGUAGE_SELECTOR_IN_TOOLBOX;" I get the following error:

PHP Fatal error:  Call to undefined method MonoBookTemplate::getTitle() in /usr/share/mediawiki-extensions/base/LanguageSelector/LanguageSelector.php on line 237

The consequence is that the language selector box does not appear at all.

Alternatively, using "$wgLanguageSelectorLocation = LANGUAGE_SELECTOR_AS_PORTLET;" for example, works fine and does not produce any errors (but it is not what I want).

Note: This error appeared after upgrading from MW 1.15.5 to 1.19.5. The language selector box worked fine in 1.15.
