Thanks for the report. ULS has a keyboard icon connected to the text input field to indicate if a keyboard mapping is active instead. We try to keep visual queues subtle and the background coloring on mapping active feature is not something we think should be in ULS. Because of the above, I'm closing this feature request as WONTFIX.
The keyboard automatically hiding when the text area is standby. To see whether Typing Tool is activated or not, we have to type some letters. And the Keyboard letter at the right bottoms feels annoyance while typing in small boxes like search area.
