Currently, the table has only class="wikitable mw-templatedata-doc-params". It would be helpful to have also the "sortable" class (think about templates with a lot of parameters, many of them optional - the user may want to order by status or by parameter name).
A user on English Wikipedia suggests that the alphabetical ordering is going to be problematic with templates where parameters have a reason to be ordered differently. For instance, with reference citations, the parameters for first and last [names] will be separated by other parameters.
I agree using alphabetical order in the popup would not be good, but this bug is about the table which appears in the place where the <templatedata> tag is inserted (e.g. the template's /doc page).
